Tis The Season Color Challenge : Navy, Sand, and Concord

Hello! I have some super exciting news to share! I have been asked to join the Tis The Season challenge blog design team! I am so thrilled! It's always been my dream to join a design team and this one is right up my alley! I love Christmas. I've said it time and time again! It's my absolute favorite! As I said, Tis The Season is a challenge blog. Every two weeks there is a new challenge. It could be a photo inspiration, a sketch, etc. This week is a color challenge! We are challenging you to use navy, sand, and concord on your project. You can use any products in your stash, but you must create a new Christmas project.

Are you ready to see my card and video? Here it is!

I used the ever popular watercolor smooshing technique with Distress Inks. My sand color is Antique Linen mixed with a bit of Brushed Corduroy, the concord is Dusty Concord, and the navy is Chipped Sapphire. I smooshed each color onto my work surface, spritzed it with water, and picked it up with some acetate and smooshed the color onto some watercolor cardstock. I did dry my colors with my heat tool before moving on so that the colors didn't mix.

I used a bold sentiment from a Fiskars and Theresa Collins stamp set called "Twas the Night". I stamped it in Versafine Onyx black ink and embossed the sentiment with some Zing! sparkle embossing powder. I spattered the front of my card with some Heidi Swapp color shine spray ink for some added shine. I popped some fun foam behind my watercolor piece and adhered it to a standard top folding A2 Neenah card.

Here's the video:

That's it! I had so much fun with this challenge and I can't wait for the next one! I really encourage you guys to stop over and upload your card to the link up! Just click here to go to the blog! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. We're so happy to have you on the team, Lynnea!

The background on this card is awesome! I love the colors you chose and the bold sentiment is perfect against it all!
