SSS November Card Kit Video #2 !!

Hello, again crafty people! I'm sorry my posts have been few and far between as of late. I was sick, and then feeling better, and then feeling terrible again. I've been sick for 3 weeks, but it seems like months! Anyway, I have a few cards to share with you today! All of them are using the November card kit from Simon Says Stamp called Winter Jubilee. The first one has a video!! Let's get started!

I started with a piece of cardstock from the kit and cut and folded it into an A2 card. The red paper is cut to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and the brown polka dot paper to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 inches. I wanted all of the layers to show with a 1/8 inch border.

I trimmed the "you warm my heart" piece from a sheet of paper included in the kit. There were 8 tags on the paper and so I cut it up so that I could use each piece individually! I matted that piece onto a piece of the blue and white snow paper. I thought the piece needed a little something, so I added a gold enamel heart.

I cut a few strips of paper to run across the card (the bunny paper and the holly paper). I took some gold floss from my stash (to match the gold heart) and tied it three times around the card and finished it off with a little bow.

That's it for this card! Here's the video:

But wait!! There's more :) :) :)

I don't know why I like this card so much...but it's really one of my favorites! I started by stamping and embossing the tree with Recollections fine detail embossing powder in gold. I trimmed around the tree with my Cutter Bee scissors and left a small white border. The candy cane stripe paper is actually a tag that I cut from that paper I talked about earlier. I matted it with some green paper for contrast. The candy cane tag actually says "to" and "from" on it, so I strategically placed the tree to cover it up!

I originally cut the music note paper to cover the entire front of the card, but as I began to assemble the card I thought it needed a bit more gold. So, I trimmed 1/4 inch off of the side of the patterned paper and squished my embossing ink pad onto a strip of scrap cardstock and covered it in the same gold embossing powder and added it to the left side of my card.

As much as I liked the candy cane paper matted in green...I thought that it looked a bit strange. Maybe more green? I added a green enamel bow to the top of the tree. Still needed more. I grabbed my green baker's twine from Martha Stewart and wrapped it around the card and tied a bow.

I stamped the sentiment from the kit and used the matching gold embossing powder.

This card is a little different from the other two, but it does focus mainly on the paper, so I wanted to share it! I cut the cute little bunny paper to fit an A2 card front. I stamped my sentiment and embossed it in Zing! Opaque white embossing powder and added a little enamel heart. I wanted to dress the card up a little bit more, so I stamped the "winter snowfall" (eventually I'll find a name for it) stamp from the kit twice at the top of my card and embossed it in white. The images overlap a bit in the middle, but I'm okay with it.

This card needed glitter. Not a lot. But it definitely needed some! I used some Stickles glitter glue and added small dots of glitter over the snowflakes randomly over the card. All done!

Thanks for joining me! I'll try not to wait so long between posts!
