Cricut Challenges!

Hello!
I'm taking part in two Cricut challenges this week over at Fantabulous Cricut and Bitten by the Bug 2.
Fantabulous Cricut challenged us to make a card that would replenish our stash. I feel like I've been sending so many thank you cards lately that I don't have any left!
Bitten by the Bug 2 had a challenge to alter a Cricut cut.
I'll show all of you my card and I hope you guys will go over and join in the festivities as well!!

I designed this card to adapt to both of the challenges.
My only Cricut cut is from Elegant Edges. I just wanted a simple butterfly image and I found the perfect one on that cartridge. Originally, I had planned to just stamp and distress the butterflies, but I saw the negative space of the cuts and I thought it would make a great addition to my card.

I started with a plain pink card base layered with my vintage music note paper which I distressed with brown ink and an ink blending tool. The negative space of my Cricut cuts is actually just a light pink piece of paper. I stamped it with a checker board background stamp from Prima in a light brown ink and then again with a word and lines stamp in a reddish-brown ink. Then I used a light brown ink to distress the paper even more.

I sewed that on to the card originally in brown thread, but it didn't provide enough contrast. So I changed to black thread.

The dark pink butterflies are also from Elegant Edges, the same butterfly as I used in the cutout piece. I stamped in the same reddish-brown ink and added some Stickles. The tag is from Pebbles. The colors of the brown and pink were just too pastel-y to fit with the card, so I distressed it with a brown ink.

To add the finishing touches I curled the edges of the paper and bent up the butterflies.

That's it guys! I hope you like it!!

Thank you for stopping by!
